Sustainability Commitment and Mission

Byggo was founded by people who grew up in nature, studied climate change, and want to become a prominent force in combating it. So, we are making a deliberate effort towards a better, more sustainable future.

Byggo design is in the early production phase of designing and prototyping, so we do not have a set product yet. However, we are already taking sustainability seriously, with sustainability as one of our core values, a dedicated head of sustainability in place, and plans to ensure Byggo is as sustainable as possible.

At this company, we do not tolerate greenwashing, so do not hesitate to contact us if you think we are not succeeding in our goals or lacking transparency.

Key Focus Areas or Pillars

Byggo design wants to make a deliberate effort to be a sustainable company by adhering to the SDGs. Currently, Byggo Design is committed to contributing to the following SDGs:

The SDG goals

Direct goals

SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy – Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

SDG 13: Climate Action – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Contribution

SDG 7:

Byggo design will contribute to SDG 7 by ensuring that our power supply delivers clean, sustainable, affordable and reliable energy for everyone. This will be ensured by committing to the following:

  • Ensure a minimum of 90% power efficiency, even when it’s connected to other modules

  • Designing the products and selling them so they’re as inexpensive as possible

  • Offering a 10-year warranty for our products

  • Products are being designed for use within renewable energy, as solar panels, to support the sustainable, green transition.

SDG 12:

Byggo design will ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns by making our products as sustainable as possible, choosing the most sustainable components, and carefully selecting our supply chain, which also takes sustainability seriously.

  • This will be done by ensuring the lowest CO2 footprint possible, from cradle to grave, by designing and crafting the products from sustainable, long-lasting, low CO2-emission components. Partnering with companies that ensure a sustainable power supply, manage packing and transport, and ensure that as many components as possible can be recycled.

  • Furthermore, it will be assured by a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Greenhouse-Gas accounting (GHG), including an assessment of SCOPE 1, 2, and 3 emissions related to the company´s internal emissions and external emissions from its supply chain and user usage.

  • Our progress will be regularly tracked, allowing us to reassess our emissions status, identify areas for further improvement, and make a plan for progress. This will be transparent with a progress tracker on our website (add progress tracker).

SDG 13 (Climate action):

Byggo design will take Climate action by adhering to the following:

  • Reduce emissions with 90% power efficiency

  • Make simple, sustainable packaging of our products to reduce plastic use and emissions

  • Reduce the total amount of power supplies, which will reduce production and waste

Indirect goals

Byggo Design´s products also indirectly support the following SDGs:

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Strengthen global partnerships to support and achieve the SDGs.

Contribution

SDG 11:

Byggo design will indirectly contribute to making cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable by offering an inexpensive, efficient, reliable and sustainable power supply.

  • We support low-income urban areas by providing reliable access to power, empowering local communities and city planners to invest in and build resilient energy grids.

  • We will provide power to public infrastructure through electric vehicle charging stations, which would reduce emissions and urban operational costs.

  • We will collaborate with local communities, government, companies, and NGOs to ensure sustainable usage of our products.

SDG 17:

Byggo design will indirectly contribute to the partnership goals by collaborating with sustainable companies that aim to make a positive impact in the world.

  • We aspire to build collaborative alliances with technology firms, local communities and research institutes to develop and scale sustainable innovations.

  • We will actively participate in partnerships, from corporate to community, where we share our experience, knowledge, resources and investment to ensure and maximise the sustainable power supply.

  • We will transparently share our goals and progress.
